Author Bio:
Born and raised in Karachi, Aamer Hussein briefly attended high school in the Nilgiris, India, before moving to England in 1970. A graduate of SOAS, Hussein has been writing since the 80s. His seven acclaimed works of fiction include the collections Mirror to the Sun (1993), Cactus Town: Selected Stories (2001), and Insomnia (2007), and the Commonwealth Prize-shortlisted novella Another Gulmohar Tree (2009). He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 2004, and is currently Professorial Writing Fellow at the University of Southampton. He writes in both English and Urdu.
